- Videoiden tulee sisältää kuvamateriaalia peleistä, animaatiosta tai sarjakuvista. Myös muiden materiaalien käyttö on sallittua, mutta videoiden pääpainon tulee olla mainituista lähteistä.
- Videoiden audion tulee olla suurimmalta osalta musiikkia, mutta se voi sisältää myös pätkiä dialogista tai dubeista.
- Videoita tai videoiden osia ei saa olla julkaistu missään ennen kilpailuesitystä.
- Videoiden suositellaan olevan ikärajaltaan K-12 -materiaalia. Huomioithan, että Suomen K-12 ikäraja vastaa animaatiossa usein USA:n PG-13 tai R -rajoituksia. K-15 materiaalilla on myös mahdollista osallistua, mutta tällöin tekijän on oltava valmis sensuroimaan videota, jotta se voidaan näyttää kilpailussa.
- Videoissa ei saa näkyä tekstityksiä, alkuperäisten tv-esitysten logoja tai leimoja, videonkäsittelyohjelman logoja tai tekijöiden nimiä sisältäviä alku/lopputekstejä. Videoissa ei saa olla alku/lopputekstejä tai tekijän nimitietoja, koska tekijän tietäminen voi vaikuttaa tuomariston päätöksiin.
- Kilpailuun saa osallistua kolmella (3) videolla. Myös yhteistyössä tehdyt videot ovat sallittuja. Tällöin jokainen yhteistyössä tehty video lasketaan yhdeksi osallistumiseksi. Esimerkiksi: osallistut yhdellä yhteistyövideolla ja kahdella yksin tehdyllä videolla, jolloin et voi osallistua enää useammalla videolla.
- Videolla saa olla osallistunut ja myös menestynyt myös muissa kilpailuissa: videota ei kuitenkaan ole saanut julkaista esimerkiksi YouTubessa ennen esitystä Animeconin kilpailussa.
- Et voi osallistua kilpailuun, jos tuomarina toimii joku perheestäsi tai lähipiiristäsi.
Videoiden lähetys
- Nimeä videot “Nimimerkki – Videon nimi” -tyylillä. Tahtoessasi voit käyttää nimimerkkinä myös omaa nimeäsi.
- Videot voi lähettää Googlen pilvipalvelun tai vastaavan kautta. Myös WeTransfer-ohjelma on toimiva lähetystapa. Lähetä latauslinkki info@animecon.world -osoitteeseen.
- Videon saavuttua, sen toimivuus tarkistetaan ja mahdollisista ongelmista ilmoitetaan. Huomioithan, että emme voi tarjota teknistä apua esimerkiksi kuvanlaadun muokkaamiseksi. Korjatut videot tulee lähettää kilpailuajan puitteissa tai jos video on lähetetty viimeisenä osallistumispäivänä, 24 tunnin kuluttua vian ilmoittamisesta.
- Ilmoittautuminen alkaa alustavasti 1.5.2025 ja päättyy 1.6.2025 kello 23.59.
Parhaimman toimivuuden takaamiseksi videot tulee toimittaa MP4-muotoisina. Videoiden suositusresoluutio on 1920×1080 tai 1280×720, pienin hyväksytty on 720×480. Suositeltu framerate on 30fps. Videon minimipituus on 1:00 minuutti ja maksimipituus 5:00 minuuttia.
Jos tahdot, voit tehdä myös erillisen tiedoston tai kuvakansion, jossa voit esitellä videon tekoprosessia tuomaristolle. Muista nimetä myös nämä tiedostot tai kansiot “Nimimerkki – Videon nimi”, jotta ne osataan yhdistää oikeaan videoon.
Tuomarointi ja palkinnot
Jos kilpailuun tulee poikkeuksellisen paljon osallistujia, voidaan suorittaa esikarsinta.
Kilpailussa palkitaan sijat 1.-3. sekä jaetaan kunniapalkinto (Paras suomenkielinen kappale) sekä voidaan tarvittaessa jakaa myös muita palkintoja. Palkinnot postitetaan voittajille, joten niitä ei tarvitse noutaa tapahtumapaikalta.
Rules of the AMV-contest
- The videos must contain visual material from games, animations, or comics. The use of other materials is also allowed, but the main focus of the videos should be on the mentioned sources.
- The majority of the audio in the videos should be music, but it can also include snippets of dialogue or dubs.
- No videos or parts of videos may have been published anywhere before the competition presentation.
- The videos are recommended to be suitable for ages K-12. Please note that in Finland, the K-12 rating often corresponds to PG-13 or R ratings in the USA for animations. It is also possible to participate with content rated K-15, but in this case, the creator must be prepared to censor the video so that it can be shown in the competition.
- The videos must not contain subtitles, logos or stamps from original TV broadcasts, logos of video editing programs, or opening/closing credits containing the names of the creators. There should be no opening/closing credits or information about the creators in the videos, as knowledge of the creator can influence the decisions of the judges.
- Participants may enter the competition with three (3) videos. Videos made in collaboration are also allowed. In this case, each video made in collaboration counts as one entry. For example: you participate with one collaborative video and two videos made individually, in which case you cannot participate with any more videos.
- The video may have participated in and even won other competitions: however, the video must not have been published, for example, on YouTube before being presented at the Animecon competition.
- You cannot participate in the competition if a member of your family or close circle is acting as a judge.
Sending the AMVs
1. Name the videos in the format “Username – Video Title” style. If you wish, you can also use your own name as the username.
2. You can send the videos through Google Drive or a similar cloud service. WeTransfer is also a functional method for submission. Send the download link to info@animecon.world.
3. Upon receipt of the video, its functionality will be checked, and any issues will be reported. Please note that we cannot offer technical assistance, for example, in editing the video quality. Corrected videos must be sent within the competition period, or if the video was submitted on the last day of participation, within 24 hours of reporting the issue.
4. Registration starts at 1st May and ends on June 1st, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
For optimal functionality, please submit the videos in MP4 format. The recommended resolution for videos is 1920×1080 or 1280×720, with the smallest accepted resolution being 720×480. The recommended framerate is 30fps. The minimum length of the video should be 1:00 minute, and the maximum length should be 5:00 minutes.
If you wish, you can also create a separate file or image folder to showcase the video-making process to the judges. Remember to name these files or folders “Username – Video Title” so that they can be correctly matched with the respective video.
Judging and Awards
If there are an exceptionally large number of participants in the competition, a preliminary selection may be conducted.
The competition awards positions 1 to 3 and presents a special recognition award (Best Finnish-language piece). Additional prizes may also be distributed as needed. The prizes will be mailed to the winners, so there is no need to pick them up from the event venue.
